A Call to Be Bold

Acts 9:27
But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.

Acts 9:29
And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.

Ephesians 6:20
For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Hebrews 13:6
So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Acts 4:13
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

    And yet our boldness should be seasoned with grace, otherwise we look like Law task masters. We need balance.

    Grace is our first step as Christians, it is not an excuse for us to live in sin or promote sin by remaining passive.

    We are to boldly proclaim the truth and be fishers of man. We are not to judge or hate individuals, but we are to despise sin. We are not of the world and we will be outcasts (John 15:18-20). Sadly, too many Christians conform to please their readers/friends that I am having a hard time figuring out if they're believers or nonbelievers :o)

    We need to refrain from diluting the gospel and stop viewing life as a popularity contest!
